If you are doubting right now — questioning God, questioning faith, wondering if prayer even works — you are not alone and you are not failing. Some of the most honest people in Scripture wrestled with the same questions. God is not frightened by your doubt.
Doubt is not the opposite of faith. Pretending is. Bring your real questions to God. He meets honest seekers. He has always met honest seekers.
Lord, I am not sure of everything right now.
Some days faith feels far away.
I do not want to pretend.
So I bring You my questions and my fear.
Help my unbelief.
Steady me where I feel unstable.
Remind me of what I have seen You do.
And give me enough faith for today.
Amen.
Name the fear or doubt specifically. Vague anxiety grows in the dark. Name it and bring it to God.
Read about someone who doubted. Thomas, Job, the Psalms. You are in good company.
Take one small step of faith. Action often leads the feeling, not the other way around.
Day 1: Read Mark 9:14–27. Pray the father's prayer: "Help my unbelief."
Day 2: Write down your specific fear or doubt. Give it a name.
Day 3: Read Psalm 22. See how honest David was with God.
Day 4: Read Job 38:1–7. Sit with the mystery of God.
Day 5: Read John 20:24–29. Thomas doubted and Jesus came to him.
Day 6: Write down one thing you have seen God do. Hold on to it.
Day 7: Take one small step of trust today, even if you do not feel it fully.
